Cryptococcal Antigen Latex Agglutination System (CALAS®) is a qualitative and semi-quantitative test system for the detection of capsular polysaccharide antigens of Cryptococcus neoformans in serum and CSF. Both blood and spinal fluid are tested for cryptococcal antigen – not antibody.
